Donna Singer was born in 1965 in the Bronx, New York City. She and her twin sister, Dawn, were raised into a family of jazz enthusiasts who listened to the music of Dinah Washington, Nancy Wilson, Sammy Davis Jr., Count Basie, Lena Horne, and many others.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.donna-singer.com/resume-bio-1.html )
She graduated from the New York Academy of Theatrical Arts〔 and had formal training at the Juilliard School.〔
After giving birth to Christopher in 1991,〔 Donna began working steadily as the pianist and Music Minister with the First Baptist Church of Monticello.〔 In the early 90’s, Donna started performing with songwriter Roy Singer. They were married in 1997.〔 Roy became the organist at the church while she continued to play the piano for over 17 years.〔
